Each year, the National Merit® Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors with the highest scores on the PSAT/NMSQT®.   Each year 16,000 of the 1.5 million seniors who took the test as juniors are recognized as National Merit Semi-finalists and another 34,000 are recognized as National Merit Commended Students.  More than 90% of Semi-finalists will go on to be named as Finalists.  Finalists are eligible to compete for National Merit Scholarships totaling about $35 million.

In total, 20 TAG seniors, 35% of the senior class, received recognition under the National Merit, National Achievement and National Hispanic Scholarship Programs.
