The National Achievement® Scholarship Program is an academic competition established to provide recognition for outstanding Black American high school students. Each year, the program recognizes the Black American high school seniors with the highest scores on the PSAT/NMSQT®. Each year, 1,600 of the 160,000 Black American seniors who took the test are recognized as National Achievement Semi-finalists and another 3,100 are recognized as National Achievement Outstanding Participants. About 80% of Semi-finalists will go on to be named as Finalists, who are eligible to compete for National Achievement Scholarships.
In total, 20 TAG seniors, 35% of the senior class, received recognition under the National Merit, National Achievement and National Hispanic Scholarship Programs.
