TAG PTSA Concession Stand Volunteers During Teacher Summer Training (sponsored by PTSA to support our teachers)
Attention Students and Parents!
We have the opportunity to raise funds for the TAG PTSA by selling concessions to teachers during their summer training at Townview on the following days:
We need volunteers to (1) sell concessions in two-hour shifts on each of these days from 7:30am to 3:30pm, and to run the popcorn machine, make coffee, and sell other items.
We also need volunteers who have a Sam’s Club or Costco membership to help with the shopping. The PTSA will provide a shopping list and volunteers will (2) shop for needed items and deliver them to the school two times each week. The PTSA will reimburse all expenses.
Finally, we would greatly appreciate (3) volunteers who could make homemade items, such as baked goods, for us to sell! We would welcome donated foods that are packaged and ready to sell. They can be delivered to the second floor of the school on any of the days listed above.
TAG Students – This is an easy way to GET YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS! Mr. Mackey will sign-off on the hours that you work. There are several ways to help, it’s not hard work and you can do it with a friend!
If you can help, please sign up for as many shifts as you can! This is a huge undertaking and if everyone pulls together we can make a huge contribution for our school!
DARN College Search Series: Click here to register
As the school year winds down, consider signing up for DARN College Search Series. This is a two-hour event held at nine (9) high schools across DFW open and FREE to anyone and everyone. The first hour, DARN will give a College 101 presentation. The second hour will be a college fair of DARN members.

Summer Public Speaking & Debate Camps
Our Summer Debate Camp would help in building your students communication and critical thinking skills, thus leading to better academic performance at school. Many of our former campers have gone on to participate in national debate tournaments and enroll in prestigious universities (UCLA, Stanford, USC, and Harvard to name a few). We also have scholarship and financial aid opportunities for students to take advantage of.
We would like to extend an invitation to your students to apply for 2018 Summer Debate Camps:
The TAG junior DI team spent the last week at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville competing in the Global Finals. They finished in 4th place. Thousands of teams from all over the globe came together for a week’s worth of competition. The Stomanopods competed in the Service Learning Challenge. Congrats to Trace Hamada, Colin Troy, Nate Martin, Justin Wise, Emily Morris, Lorelai Pop, and Kezia Lopez. And thanks to their teacher sponsors Ms. Ellis and Ms. Malone
Dallas ISD has launched a new webpage with resources for students and families who are impacted by recent developments regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The Dallas ISD school board voted unanimously to declare Dallas ISD a welcoming and protective district vowing to do everything it can to provide a welcoming and protective environment in all schools for all students. Learn more about these resources and feel free to share the link with anyone you may know who could benefit.
